Moderated Remote Testing

Testing users wherever they are

Remote usability testing is a variant of standard usability testing, but with one fundamental difference: participants who have Internet access can be located anywhere in the world. The computer set-up for this type of testing includes a computer with Internet access, the installation of a remote sharing software, and a webcam, if possible.

Also Yu Centrik is the Canadian representative of UXalliance. UXalliance is an international organization gathering the best user experience firms in the world under a common objective: maintaining consistency and high standards while conducting globalized user experience research.

Since its inception in 2005, UXalliance has been gaining momentum through more than 250 international projects with its partners, testing 15 000 participants in 20 countries.

Yu Centrik uses a remote observation application that allows the test moderator to see and hear participants as they use the website, and to monitor the navigation and mouse activity.
