With the growth we have experienced in recent years, we began to find our offices in the Plateau a bit small.

We were looking for a place that would be more suitable for our design needs and most importantly, a space that we can call a Living lab; an environnement where we can push further our passion for user research.

And … we found it!

Our new offices, now located in the heart of Mile End, will be larger but no less welcoming than before!

The Yu Lab will be equipped with the latest technologies for observing and capturing users behaviour.

The new lab will allow us to offer our clients an even richer range of services: focus groups, tests on all types of screens (mobile phones, tablets, PCs, TV sets) and in all contexts. We will be able to convert this space into a living room, a kitchen, a operational control room, in short, in all types of environments necessary for the studies requested by our clients!

The observation room will have a 15-feet two-way mirror and monitors for close-ups.

In addition, our War Room, dedicated to creative discussions and brainstorming, is ready to welcome you to exciting collaborative design sessions (we love them)!

Yu Centrik and UXalliance are organising “User Experience Masterclass,” the first international conference on User Experience next September 20 in Montreal.
This unique event is geared toward user experience professionals and enthusiasts alike. Experts from 25 countries are coming to present case studies and discuss industry trends.

Pierre-Alexandre has presented an iTV comparative test method in Finland at the Euroitv 2010 Workshop on Methods for User Studies of Interactive (TV) Methodologies.

Chrystel was a member of the jury at the Raedium Prize. This prize is given to a graduate student in industrial design to recognize excellence in context of intervention. It is awarded by a jury composed of former graduated students of the School of Industrial Design. The prize was awarded to Cynthia Savard Saucier for her project OWL! Since then, Cynthia has joined the Yu Centrik team.

Jay just gave a talk at the European Congress on Digital Archiving in Geneva, Switzerland, where he presented technological methods and a vision for the future of the field of Digital Archiving with reference to last year’s projects with UNESCO and CIHI.

Joëlle Stemp from Yu Centrik, was a presenter at WebEducation, a monthly Quebec government event directed at web analysts, on February 18th. Title of the presentation: “Designing User Experience for the 3 screens” (Web, iTV, Mobile).

Pierre-Alexandre Lapointe, one of Yu Centrik’s UX Directors, recently taught two sessions: one at the University of Montreal, École Polytechnique, on “Designing User Experience for Interactive Television,” and the other at Montreal Business School on “Creating Personas”.

Edited by Robert Schumacher, the Handbook of Global User Research is the first book to focus on global user research.

Jay Virdyarthi User Experience Designer & Research Coordinator at Yu Centrik will be a speaker at Cleverbridge’s  Networking Event which will be held in Montreal, October 14th, 2009. It is our pleasure to introduce you to Nicolas Martin Handfield and Thierry Alexandre Zambo, who recently joined our team as account managers.

Martin is an engineer and is passionate about application design processes that, while striving for usability, meet the development constraints.

Thierry holds a master’s degree in economics, has an international road map and a sound understanding of issues underlying optimal user experiences.

Here are two experienced people whose principal mission is to ensure the complete satisfaction of our customers. The arrival of these new recruits allows YU CENTRIK to provide outstanding follow-up and support to its customers and to consolidate its leadership in consulting services for the design of technological solutions (services and applications).
